Life Purpose from Mark Manson’s view

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson (Indonesian Version)

Last night,
I watched Mark Manson’s IG TV and I found a very interesting videos, one that make me feel struck the most is about ‘Life Purpose’

Mark Manson is an author. A prominent writer. I have one of his book, The Art of Not Giving a F**k and I plan to buy the other book which is Everything is F*cked, A Book About Hope.

His writing style is very honest and interesting for me. His book talks about life. It’s considered as self-development book if you go to book store. And it’s surely is.

Well, back to his IG TV, I found some videos, I watched all of them (there are 4 videos) and I think the Life Purpose is the most memorable one for me.

In that video, he said that Life Purpose is something that we enjoy doing. If we do thing wholeheartedly, it means that we do something purposeful. That’s it.

I’m blown away by that simplicity.

You know, people go here and there, thinking, spending many times asking theirselves about what we are doing, what their life purpose is, what the meaning of their life. (It’s honestly what I’ve been thinking recently).

And there it is. The answer that we’ve been looking for. Or I’m looking for. Out of many things, Mark Manson has a very simple yet thoughtful answer that I can’t find myself.

It’s said that all answers are within (I read it somewhere). It might be true. We might tend to look outside or externally to figure out things without trying to look inside first. And that’s why we get lost most of the times. That’s why we don’t or can’t find the right answer. It’s because we look for it at the wrong place.

It’s just my opinion and I’m really glad and inspired by Mark Manson’s words. I wrote this to remind myself (in case one day I’m lost and forget about this).

As i write this, i remember that someone told me or i read it somewhere that "The time that you spent to enjoy the things, it's NOT wasted."

So, I hope that you  I will always remember that life is a journey. You  I don’t have to figure everything out very soon. Negative feeling like : sadness, disappointment or worry, it’s normal. Accept the feeling. It’s okay to not feel okay about what happen(happened). When you enjoy the journey, when you enjoy things that you do, the work that you do, the moment that you have, that’s when you have purposeful life. Appreciate it. Don’t be complicated. Or don’t make it complicated.

The Beauty of Life

Some days,
It feels good to do nothing
The other days,
It feels so boring and you wanna do something
Some time,
You want to be alone
And enjoy it
But the other times,
It feels better to have a company with you
One day,
You find a possible-to-be a lover
But you missed the opportunity
You lost that person out of worry or curiosity
You know that sometimes it’s not easy to love
But some days,
It’s really hard to let go
That’s the paradox of life
Those are things that make life becomes so funny
Life is like a box of chocolate* they say
You may see some sweetness outside,
But you might not be able to guess what’s inside it
Sometimes,
It’s really full of surprises
And you have no clue about what’s about to happen
That’s the beauty of life I guess.

What would you say to your 20-year-old self?

Dear my 20-year old self, please BE HAPPY, BE COURAGEOUS, BE BRAVE to try and to take risks. You will only regret the things that you didn’t do. If you do things and you fail, it’s a lesson.

DON’T TAKE LIFE SO SERIOUSLY. You won’t get out alive. Enjoy the time that you have. Meet people and have another point of views about life. See the life from other view.

BE CURIOUS to always eager to learn. There are so much things that you don’t know in this life. LISTEN to others, but you can always have your own opinion. Sometimes you can agree to disagree. The most important thing is to always be the open-minded person. DON’T LIMIT YOURSELF/YOUR BELIEF. See through the other eyes.

ALWAYS BE GRATEFUL for everything, Good or bad, it happens for a reason. You might not find it straight away, but may be later. Even if you don’t figure out the reason, it’s okay.

BE RESPONSIBLE for your thoughts, words, and action. THINK before you doing something, especially if it’s included other person in it. Because people is the most complex creature on earth. They have their own mind and that’s why it’s important to be careful when you deal with them.

You DON’T NEED TO CARE ABOUT EVERYTHING. Focus on the things that you can control. ALWAYS TRY TO HAVE POSITIVE THOUGHTS.

BE KIND to yourself first and to others next. REMEMBER you are your longest commitment and responsibility. Always try to put yourself first. It might means that you’re being selfish. But you won’t be able to do good to others, if you don’t/can’t treat yourself well in the first place. REMEMBER THIS.

GO OUT and TRY TO FIND YOUR PURPOSE, the meaning of your life. Why do you live? Try to seek for the answer of that question.

Jay Shetty said "Passion is what keep you alive, but purpose is what can you give to others."
